On Oct. 24, Huang Luqi, President of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) and member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, met with Prof. Stephen from Uppsala University of Sweden, Prof. Lena, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and their group, holding a talk on the China-Sweden cooperation on TCM. Li Kun, Deputy President of CACMS, attended the meeting together with related personnel from International Cooperation Department.
Renowned as the oldest university in Sweden and the whole of Northern Europe, Uppsala University used to award an honorary doctorate of philosophy to Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. Boasting a history of more than 500 years, Uppsala University has developed into a world-famous modern institution of higher learning.
As a member of the Swedish Research Council for Medicine, a member of the Council of Uppsala University, Director of the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and Director of the Genome Center, Prof. Stephen is accomplished in the pathways and mechanisms of anti-tumor metastasis. And Prof. Lena, a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, is a leading expert in cell biology research in Northern Europe with profound research done on heparin and mRNA animal models.
