
The Launching Ceremony of International Alliance of the Prevention and Treatment of Major Infectious Diseases with Traditional Medicine was opened in Beijing on December 21st. This alliance cooperates with the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies, and China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, aiming at promoting mutual learning, consultation and sharing among different countries, and bringing into play the special role of traditional medicine in the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases.
The Alliance aims to unite medical units, scientific research units, educational units and industrial institutions and academic groups around the world, gathering experts and scholars in the medical fields, carrying out cooperation in the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases, medicine research and development, clinical research, and promotion of diagnosis and treatment schemes, etc., thereby contributing to the building of a global community of health for all.
“The initiative received positive response from medical and scientific research institutions, as well as experts and scholars around the world after it was put forward,” said Yang Longhui, Deputy Party secretary of the CACMS. Over 60 institutions and more than 70 experts from 30 countries and regions have joined the Alliance.
It is learned that the Alliance will focus on making technological breakthroughs in major infectious diseases, explore the mechanism of action and effect targets of effective prescriptions in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, and seek effective medicines and treatment schemes. At the same time, it will promote cooperation and exchanges in traditional medicine among countries, and launch research on the prevention and treatment of malaria, influenza and other major infectious diseases by means of traditional medicine.
