TCM Team Serving the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games

The 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games will be held from Feb 4th to March. According to the strategic plan for the Winter Olympics and the needs of TCM-based medical security, Guang’anmen Hospital dispatched eight medical workers from different department to participate in the training course of medical rescue for the Winter Olympics jointly organized by Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports from Dec 2nd to Dec7th.  


The training course aims to cultivate a comprehensive TCM-based health security team to ensure the safety of Olympic athletes, and showcase the unique charm of TCM culture in the international event. The training involves comprehensively improving the ability of TCM workers to provide emergency help for sports injuries and accidental injuries, enhancing the English communicative competence of staff for daily oral communication, medical and competition terminology for the Winter Olympics and teaching the basic skills of walking on ice and snow. During the training, trainees leveraged their professional expertise, and learned from each other through exchange and cooperation. After training, eight medical workers from Guang’anmen Hospital passed the assessment in the three areas of “bone injury, English communication and skiing”. This shows that the young medical staff of Guang’anmen Hospital are resolved to serve the Winter Olympics with the traditional Chinese medical expertise.
