Since the establishment of  China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, especially since the opening-up policy in 1978, the international exchange activities have been increasing, and the breadth and depth of foreign exchanges have continued to expand. As an comprehensive research institution for foreign cooperation in our country, the global influence of CACMS   is increasing day by day.


Over the past,  CACMS has provided medical and health care services for foreign heads of state and national dignitaries, participated in activities such as  volunteer TCM  medical consultations for overseas Chinese, and organized traditional Chinese medicine publicity activities along the "Belt and Road” countries.


Over the past, CACMS has received more than 6,800 government officials from more than 50 countries, regions, and international organizations, as well as experts and scholars from universities and research institutes. As a messenger of Chinese medicine overseas, in the past five years, experts from our hospital have given more than 500 Chinese medicine lectures abroad, covering more than 40 countries and regions.


In the past five years, CACMS has hosted more than 110 important international conferences on TCM, including international seminars, scientific and technological conferences, seminars and other forms. 

In addition, CACMS  has built  three WHO collaberating centers and has regularly undertaken various projects and training tasks entrusted by the WHO.  


Since 1991, CACMS has signed nearly 200 cooperation agreements with more than 40 countries and regions, and undertook more than 200 international cooperation projects; since 2015,CACMS has established 5 natioanl-level overseas TCM centers , like China-U.S.TCM Center, China-Germany TCM Center, China-Norway TCM Center , China-Italy TCM Center, and China-Austria TCM Center and 6 National TCM International Cooperation Bases for traditional Chinese medicine; initiates a series of TCM  international cooperation projects which has deepened and expanded cooperative scales with a number of well-known research institutions,  accelerating the speed of Chinese medicine going abroad.


\At present, CACMS  has established a long-term talent training mechanism with many institutions and universities in United States, Austria, Japan, South Korea. In the past 10 years, CACMS has sent nearly 200 scientific researchers, management personnel, and physicians to the above-mentioned countries for further training. In addition, it also undertakes training tasks for the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, and WHO.
